Partnering With a Purpose - the Importance of the ELAC
By Karen J. Gunther, ASWA National President

ASWA created the Executive Leadership Advisory Council, or ELAC, in 2005 for the purpose of enriching our partnerships with both our current Honorary Trustees and prospective partners. The Executive Committee was charged with this responsibility and held the first semi-annual meeting in January 2006. We just completed our fifth ELAC meeting in January 2008 and we couldn’t be more pleased with the relationships we’ve built and the positive outcomes for our organization.  Stay tuned for the March issue of The Compass that will contain a report on that meeting. Remember Our Mission Statement!
By Susan R. Tripepi, ASWA National Director
During our board of directors meeting last May, Joy Barron led us in a conversation about our mission statement, and then asked us if anyone was able to recite it. Although many of us tried, there were a few words that were in a different order or maybe that just didn’t exist in our mission statement. Why are mission statements even created? Read more >
