Formal Mentoring Program

As I began my presidency this past year, our chapter maintained only 61% membership renewal rate with no student membership carryover.  How could that be?  Annually, we have had successful Student Night Events with over a hundred in attendance.  Unfortunately, our scholarship campaign in 2006-2007 resulted in no applicant worthy of the award.  It made our chapter think, "Maybe we haven’t gotten the message across that we are here to assist young women in attaining their personal and professional potential in the accounting and finance field.  Maybe our members need a vehicle to gain personal self gratification in sharing their experiences and maybe the meeting format is getting stale?" New Internal Control Certification

The Internal Control Institute's Certification Board has approved a senior level internal control certification called the "Certified Internal Control Professional" (CICP).  This new certification, along with ICI's benchmark CICS certification are important steps that internal control professionals can take to highlight their expertise and provide professional recognition for their skills and knowledge in this critically important field.
