I just read a quote and have decided it will be my new mantra.  “Expect your every need to be met. The universe wants you to succeed.”  I am not sure who wrote it, but it just struck me as something worth remembering. It is how I feel about ASWA. In the last issue of The Compass, I mentioned that the executive committee of the national board would be hosting our semi-annual Executive Leadership Advisory Council meeting in Washington, DC.  The attendees included representative from Robert Half International, SCORE Foundation, Merrill Lynch, FINRA, Grant Thornton, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, American Society of Women Accountants Educational Foundation and ASWA’s National Executive Committee and senior staff.  The topics for discussion included “Staffing Issues with Respect to Generations,” “Effective Marketing Techniques,” “SCORE Foundation Overview” and “Financial Literacy Overview.”  Read more >

ASWA’s primary strategic planning objective is to “Position ASWA as the home for all women accounting professionals whether new to the field, experienced or considering a career transition.”  There is no way that we could achieve this objective without continually checking in with you, our membership.  As you might recall, ASWA conducted our annual membership survey in the beginning of January.  The purpose of this survey is to ensure that ASWA member services reflect what you need and the goal is to make your membership in ASWA more meaningful to you.  Read more >
