Letter from the Editor
By Susan R. Tripepi, The Compass Editor

President's Message
By Barbara W. Covington, ASWA National President

March is Women’s History Month and a wonderful opportunity to recognize the historic accomplishments of women. The first public celebration was in 1978 in Sonoma County, California.  In 1981, Congress proclaimed the week including March 8th as Women’s History Week and then in 1987 Congress expanded the celebration to the month of March.  As a collegiate student you were not able to study the achievements of women in history until the seventies when some universities developed courses for study.  Read more >

In a Robert Half International survey, 83 percent of chief financial officers interviewed said they have not identified a successor for their position. There are perils ahead, however, for companies that fail to focus on replacing their key players. Conversely, there are rewards for businesses that take action. Read more >

Susan R. Tripepi, JNC Co-Chair and Stacey L. Craig, CPA, National President-Elect

Approximately seven months from today we will be boarding airplanes from all over the country to meet up in Las Vegas for the Joint National Conference (JNC) at The Palms Resort. I hope you are starting to get as excited as we are. Our headquarters staff and steering committee have been working diligently to provide you a great conference.
